Benjámin Diószegi studied as a master’s student at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg (2020-2024) in the class of Prof. Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch and Prof. Donald Sulzen. Besides the Mozarteum University, Benjámin Diószegi was admitted at the Doctoral School of the ANMGD Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, where he is researching the work of György Ligeti. During the years he had the chance to work as a university assistant and as a piano teacher in several private schools, gaining significant teaching experience. Benjámin Diószegi is currently piano teacher at the Piestingtal Music School, a private music school near Vienna, and he also regularly gives chamber music concerts and solo recitals.
In 2025, he was invited to the Mozart Festival in Cluj-Napoca and also participated in the VIP Academy workshop in Vienna. In April 2026, he was engaged for a recital tour in the USA, performing on four occasions in New York and Tucson, Arizona. His performances are characterized by virtuosity, great sensitivity, and a pronounced stylistic versatility.
In 2019, Benjámin Diószegi performed the entire cycle of Franz Liszt’s 12 Études d’exécution transcendante in one piano recital in Rome. His repertoire covers many eras and genres from the Baroque to contemporary music. Benjámin Diószegi won first prize at the International “Dinu Lipatti” Competition in Rome in 2017 and 2016 and the “Zeitklang” special prize at the International Piano Klavierpodium Competition in Munich. In 2019 he received a special prize at the Hungarian Music Festival in Bucharest.
In recent years he has played several solo recitals in major European cities. Benjámin Diószegi has gained significant professional experience through his public appearances and has been able to refine his knowledge in high-quality piano and chamber music master classes. Among others, he took part in the Fontainebleau Summer Academy (2017) and the Freiburg Summer Academy (2015), where he learned from world-famous artists such as Robert Levin, Peter Donohoe, Bernd Glemser, Erik Tawaststjerna, Jura Margulis, Christian Ivaldi and Renaud Capuçon. In addition, thanks to the SoNoRo scholarship (2015, 2016, 2018), he had the opportunity to work and play with outstanding chamber musicians such as Frans Helmerson, Mihaela Martin, Alissa Margulis and Diana Ketler.
In the summer of 2022, he was selected to work with the famous pianist Elisabeth Leonskaya as part of the Summer Academy in Salzburg. He was also invited to play as a soloist in several orchestral concerts, including with Filarmonica Transilvania and Antonin Ciolan Orchestra as well as the Filarmonica “Ion Dumitrescu” Rămnicu-Vâlcea. In recent years he has devoted his attention to the song and chamber music repertoire and has also taken part in numerous vocal coaching sessions and master classes as a répétiteur. He has taken part in several projects of the Salzburg Philharmonic. Most recently he played a lied recital with various singers, including in the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic.
